Based in Montana, Black Water Siren Studio creates finely handcrafted art jewelry expressing ancient and modern symbolism in gem-embellished sterling silver, copper, bronze, and 14k gold. In business since 1989, Black Water Siren jewelry can be found in select boutiques throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and is collected on four continents by enthusiastic and loyal customers.
Each piece of Black Water Siren jewelry is individually handcrafted using traditional tools and techniques commonly used for hundreds of years. We use labor-intensive techniques such as hard-soldering, stone-setting, lost wax casting, hand forging, metal chasing, and surface finishing to achieve each piece’s unique and original look. Carefully selected gems, often chosen for their rarity or unusual quality, are meticulously added to give vibrant color, sparkle, and individuality to each creation. Most of our designs are one of a kind or very limited production to ensure that no two pieces are exactly the same.
In 2008, Black Water Siren’s Affirmation (Imagine & Believe) earrings were featured in Femail Creations, a national gift catalog showcasing female designers.
In 2015, the CBS show “NCIS: New Orleans” featured our Black Water Siren Studio exclusive Erzulie Freda charm pendant in their Season 1 Episode 21 show called “You’ll Do”, which originally aired on April 28, 2015. The pendant is the main clue which is found on the murder victim’s body. You can watch a clip of the coroner's scene showing the pendant HERE.
The owner, Cyndia Christen Reddish, is a self-taught metalsmith and jewelry artist. Jewelry has been a life long passion for her; her earliest memories are of a large box of her mother’s costume jewelry, which she would spend hours taking apart and redesigning as a young child. She has been creating original art jewelry ever since, drawing inspiration from her environment, personal experience, and intuitive talent.
“Art is in my soul. In the thirty-plus years that I have been a professional jewelry artist, I feel that I am fulfilling an important aspect of my divine purpose; to touch people at a core level, enhance and fulfill them in some way that they otherwise might not have achieved alone.”
