ENGAGEMENT CUFF

Commissioned by a couple for the commemoration of their engagement, this cuff was created for the groom as he doesn't normally wear rings. The couple has various symbols they designed to represent themselves and their union, and everything, including the stones chosen, represents some aspect of their relationship. The entwined hearts are constructed with bronze and sterling silver set in the center with an amethyst cabochon. One side of the cuff is set with six garnet cabochons, the other side with six aquamarine cabochons, both set in bronze bezels. The groom was available to participate in the creation of his cuff, and drew the symbols down the center of the face of the cuff and drew the entire design on the inside. I drew the scrolling designs along the edges and the tree beneath the garnet cabochons. The cuff was then acid etched, shaped, oxidized to bring out the texture and design, and hand polished.
